When to lock a PDF file.

Use password locking for sensitive files that need basic access control.

Lock PDFs when they include private, financial, medical, legal, or internal information. Password locking is not a replacement for enterprise security, but it adds a helpful barrier when sharing files through email or storage links.

All processing is performed directly in your browser's client-side sandbox. Your files and data remain secure, and no uploads or external transmissions occur.
